Interactive HPLC Simulation

Analysis of Caffeine in Beverages

Prepare solutions, collect simulated HPLC chromatograms, and use calibration data to determine caffeine concentrations in unknown beverage samples.

three-part exercise

Work through the parts in order so each page can pass its data to the next step.

Start Part I
Part I

Prepare Solutions

Select the correct components for each required dilution. As each solution is made, it is added to the solution table with its concentration and remaining volume.

Part II

Run the HPLC

Choose an HPLC method, select one sample at a time, and collect simulated chromatograms. Each completed run records retention information and integrated peak areas.

Part III

Analyze the Results

Select standard runs to build a calibration curve, fit area versus concentration, and evaluate calculated caffeine concentrations for the unknown beverage samples.
